الموقف الامريكي من الهجوم الاسرائيلي على قرية السموع الاردنية في ١٣ تشرين الثاني ١٩٦٦

Abstract

This research deals with the US position on the Israeli attack on the Jordanian village of Samoua on November 13, 1966 and the embarrassment caused by US policy in terms of Jordan's relationship with the United States and Israel. Washington blamed Tel Aviv for attacking Jordan instead of Syria, which Washington viewed as the main backer of the guerrilla operations emanating from Jordan. This is why I tried to contain the repercussions of the attack on the international level through a balanced international resolution that does not affect Israel's position and international status. And at the regional level by helping the King Hussein regime overcome its ordeal by supporting some shipments of US weapons and helping it control its borders, as US diplomacy has succeeded in containing the consequences of the attack.
