Water consumption of wheat and rice crops in Iraq

Abstract

This research is concerned with examining the impact of the climate factorson the water consumption for two corps (wheat and barley as they are regardedas the strategic corps in Iraq in the time of their plantation. However, the thevalue of water consumption for both corps is based on two factors: first, theclimate change, which represents 99% of the water consumption. This hasbeen dependent on the experimental methods in the process of equation ofNajeeb Kharofa from the Credial Blani equation for modifying it accordign tothe climate circumstances prevailing in Iraqi. Second, the plantation factorswhich represented by (Kc) for both corps which involves 1% It has been foundthat quantities of water consumption for both wheat and barely are highlydifferent, that such difference is ranging from )203.9( and ml in two stationsSaladin and Basrah respectively. (534.5) In terms of this discrepancy for thetotal consumption for both wheat and barley during the growth season , Iraqhas been categorised into three areas/ranges (125)ml in the mountain area andthe west north from the plain area represented by Sinjar and Mousl stationas well as the southern areas of the plain area sand desert in two stations Alhay and basrah. There was another discrepancy for the quantities of waterconsumption for rice as well from 1387.1 and 1980.7 ml in Saladin, Umarahrespectively; therefore, this great difference for the total water consumptionfor rice in the summer in three ranges 200 ml from domain to another. below, the northern and eastern north in the country includes only the mountain, andabove includes also the the middle and south parts of Iraq to include the plainarea and desert.
