"Studying Some of the mechanical &thermal properties of polyester reinforced with ceramic particles"

Abstract

This study have been made by reinforcing the (matrix –material) which is unsaturated polyester using Alumina as a filler of particle size (30μm) withDifferent weight Fraction of (5%, 10%, 15%, 20%,25%).Some of it's mechanical& thermal properties have been studied for the prepared specimens .microscopic pictures have been taken for the internal structure using opticalmicroscope to scan the particle distribution inside matrix material in regularway.The results Of impact and hardness showed an increase with the increaseof weight fraction as non-linear relationships whereas the thermal conductivity increased with the Increment of weight fraction for ceramic particles which hasreached the maximum Value of (0.319 w/m.oc) for the composite material reinforced with alumina Particles at weight fraction of (20%) which has been at the maximum value.
