Abstract

Reaction of 3-chlorobenzoIb]thiophene-2-carboxylic acid, hydrazide (l) .r,vith carbon disulfide in alcoholic potassiumhydroxide - hldrqzine lead to the formation of triazole (2). Thehldrazide tI)'aiiJ'"rt?'iazole (2) subsequently react with variousaldehydes and ketones to form Schiffs bases (3-9). On otherhand , reactions of Schiffs bases with anhydrous acetic acid give- ner.v benzo[b]thiophenes containing oxadiazole moiety (10-3).Their structures have been verified on the bases of some spectralproperties
