Designing and Implementing a Simulation Program for Setup Windows XP by Using Visual Basic Language

Abstract

The process of learning windows operating system setup is not easy because it needs to practical application which requires computer and CDs'. A problem that may happen, in addition, the long time and effort are required to apply this process. Therefor we design and implement a simulation program to simulate this process. The current paper performs this need by using visual basic language (related with programming) and photoshop program (related with design). From the first window to end, the learner feels as if he is in a real process. It is suitable to mention that the screen resolution of the applied computer will be converted to 800*600 that leads the program to appear in a full screen. Just as program ends, the real resolution returens to orign resolution. For designing program windows, we use a digital camera to take photos to all real windows of setup, the same copies of photos are made. Also we take video record to know the sequences of the real setup. Finaly we use these designs into visual basic and we put all the required objects, then we make programming process. This paper shows that we shorten the simulation program time very much to allow the learner to repeat it many times, also we can increase or decrease time as the learner desires.
