Altruism at the Age of the Prophet's Mission

Abstract

The research tries to shed light on one important ethical side in the life of Muslims under the control of the greatest prophet(God's blessing and peace be upon him), which is altruism. Its importance in this age and in the following ages springs from the problems and challenges, which the Muslims face nowadays and in the past. This requires that they pay attention to such an issue coming from the greatest figure and the The research tackles the linguistic meaning of altruism and its meaning in conventional usage. It traces the Quran verses that mention the word 'altruism' or its derivatives. After that it discusses the conditions Alsharia stipulates to achieve altruism. It studies the manifestations of altruism at the age of the Prophet's mission like altruism via cash money or gifts, and altruism via self, which is divided into two main types: altruism of the self for the sake of the Prophet, like the Companions preferring of the Prophet to themselves, or preferring cult or religion to the self.
