Disasters and Epidemics in Mosul during the Abbasid Period

Abstract

The study of the economic and social aspects of Mosul is regarded one of the most important subjects that contribute in understanding the political life in the city. Further, Disasters and epidemics and the most significant Factors which affect the agricultural side in the city, thereby affecting public life.Floods contributed considerably in increasing peoples suffering , especially Farmers ,Meanwhile ,we Find that the measures of the authority are absent to face this problem.In addition , there happened many droughts due to the gravity of rain.Consequently , natural factors have a great impact on the living and class change.This also leaves its marks on the political entities that ruled Mosul during the Abbasid period like the Hamdania State, the Sulguk rule, and the Zinki rule
