STRAGGLING OF ENERGY LOSS FOR SWIFT IONS USING CLASSIAL AND QUANTUM FORM

Abstract

In the present work , the energy straggling have been studied theoretically for the swift ion (protons) which incident on the different gaseous and solid targets such as (Au,C,Al,Sc ) In present work , a dielectric function like Random Phase Approximation (RPA) and stopping cross-section in classical and quantum form have been used of calculated and to study the relative variance in energy loss. Atomic number and velocity of incident ions and screening parameter ,R strongly dependent on energy straggling. We use mathematical approximates methods to calculate and derive the equations with programming the equations by FORTRAN 90 using (compiler visual FORTRAN V6.6) We found good agreement between our results and previous work.
