EFFECT OF LEPTESTHERIIDAE CRUSTACEA ON FEEDING AND SURVIVAL OF FISH COMMON CARP (CYPRINUS CARIO) FRY

Abstract

Abstract : The aim of present study is investigate of the effect of Leptestheriidae Crustacea on fish Common Carp (Cyprinus carpio) fry (at 16days age) ponds , the trail divided to two parts laboratory and field (in Furat Fish Co.) which is lasted 4months (from 25/3/2011 to 20/7/2011), The result show that common carp fry are prey upon the Leptestheriidae crustacea and left the empty Carapace , High decrease was occurred in Rotifer number in fish water pond when the Leptestheriidae found in large number (more than 85 animals/100L) And we also reported that occurrence of this Crustacean was increased the water turbidity in earthen ponds , and high survival rate of common carp fry was recorded when the high density of Leptestheriidae was present because it is inner in food chain of this fish at age 16 days.
