Taxonomic Study on Larvae of Flies causing Myiasis on Human in Karbala Governorate

Abstract

Myiasis is the infestication of live human and and vertebrate animals with dipterous larvae ,which , at least for acertain period , feed on host`s dead or living tissue , lipuid body substances, or ingested food. Larva flies are collected that causes Myiasis from human wounds. Larva stages have been reread to get adults insect for in order to reinforce the process of description and diagnosis. The number of branches for Anterior spiracles , Posterior spiracles , Peritreme, button , the order of spiracles Slits in addition to the differences in parts of cephalopharyngeal skeleton have been used in preparing keys to diagnosis the 3rd stage larva for the species that cause myiasis. Locallity records , date , of collection and hosts have been included for most species . Results recorded : Two families contain three species caused these larvae myiasis in human they are: Familly Calliphoridae contain of two species Chrysomya megacephala (Fabricius) and Lucilia sericata (Meigen) . Muscidae consist of onespecies Musca domestica Linnaeus . they result show case of myiasis between Chrysomya megacephala and M. domestica in women toe.the other one on men leg that’s Lucilia sericata larvae.
