The Reformist Social Project in Al- Erfan Lebanon Magazine

Abstract

The Lebanon country had been stood as a pioneer in the modern renascence of the Arabic thought. The press was the important element. They took a way to publish their thoughts; therefore, the first Arabic magazine was issued in Beirut on 1858. It followed by issuing many newspapers. It included the modern thoughts and dealt with the national sense. It increased at the beginning of the twentieth century. At the ends of the Ottoman Constitutional revolution on 1908, the Arabic press had witnessed a new beginning. It issued almost (350) magazines by the Arabic language throughout the Ottoman State.In Saida, the Phoenician city of the historical hereditament, Ammel's Mountain had saw the illuminator of the press and started its activity in that part of Lebanon, by founding (Al-Erfan) magazine at 5th of February 1909, so it was the first Shiite Islamic Arabic in the world.Al-Erfan magazine had represented a state of freedom flying open of speaking the opinion and the other opinion, where emerged on its pages an intellective directions, modernizing and reformatory, contributed by its crystallization and explained its purports a generation of the Arabic renascence movement pioneers. Its essays were The picture of the research has concluded which is entitled (the Lebanon Al-Erfan magazine "a study of its educational, learning and social treatment 1909 - 1936)" to held on this introduction, four chapters and conclusion, the two researchers has set on their studying conclusion about the social cases in the magazine during a big group of its essays, dealt with the social issues such as: education, learning and the woman by affirmation the importance of the morals in the developing of the societies. It also dealt with the local healthy situations and the importance of the progressing, on the other hand, standing on the notable international developments in this range.
