Attitudes towards Modernity At the students of the university

Abstract

The current research aimed to identify The level of attitudes towards modernity among the students of the university . The significance of differences in attitudes towards modernity among students of the university according to sex and speciality variables . Six hundred and thirty ( 630 ) university students ( 276 male and 354 female students ) have been selected randomly and recruited for this research project . The psychometric properties of the two scales have been verified by finding both the virtual validity and the construction validity , as well as by finding the stability via using the test and re-test for measuring the attitudes towards modernity with a stability coefficient of ( 0.82 ) In addition , the data were treated statistically using the following statistical methods : Chi square , Pearson correlation coefficient , Cronbach’s Alpha equation , T-test to measure the significance of Pearson correlation coefficient , T-test for a single sample , the T-test for two independent samples , and two-way analysis of variance . The results were as follows :A high level of positive attitudes towards modernity was found among the students of Diyala University . Statistically significant differences were found in attitudes towards modernity depending on sex and in favor of males while for specialization variable, the results showed a statistically significant differences in favor of humanitarian specialization in attitudes towards modernity .
