Abstract

The study aimed to identify the determinants of investment in the industrial sector and the requirements of sustainable development in Palestine , especially in the West Bank, by recognizing the reality of investment in the industrial sector, the difficulties and obstacles that face the sector and limit its contribution to sustainable development , using the analytical method in Search through relying on previous literature, the study found a range of results and determinants that limit the rise in industry's contribution in gross domestic product(GDP), especially the dependency of the Palestinian economy to the Israeli economy and the obstacles and restrictions on local product, poor infrastructure, Lack of financing sources, low competitiveness of labour productivity, the oldness of the used machines in the production process, in addition to laws and regulations to encourage investment in the industry, And weak structure of productive organizations. The most important recommendations of the study is the need of adoption long-term strategies and a vision for the future of industrial development in particular and economic activity in general through an integrated five-year plan, and work on periodic exhibitions in the Arab and Palestinian territories to define the Palestinian and Arab national products to the consumers, and the establishment of industrial areas at the level of the provinces of Palestinian state, Activation of the Investment Law, and encourage investment in the industry by building joint projects with the public sector, the improvement and reducing use of resources, especially local raw materials And skilled manpower While maintaining the main development areas of economic growth, social development and conservation of natural resources and the environment, Attention to the requirements of the local market and taking into account the quality and price, In addition to the interest in export products, and find solutions to the problem of marketing the industrial products.
