Design of Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger for Air Conditioning-Water Heating Hybrid System

Abstract

Abstract The use of air conditioning-water heating hybrid system for heating, cooling and hot water of buildings, has significantly importance for energy saving. It has been proposed a system to recover the waste heat of refrigerant after leaving the air conditioning system condenser in the heating mode and the waste heat of refrigerant after leaving the air conditioning system compressor in the cooling mode to heat water for domestics or other needs. Shell and tube heat exchanger has been designed as a refrigerant-to-water heat exchanger located between the condenser and the expansion valve in the heating mode and between the compressor and the condenser in the cooling mode. The simulation program of heat exchanger has been built by using (MATLAP) in order to determining the heat transfer parameters and the temperature difference between the inlet cold water and outlet hot water, the results show that the effectiveness decrease with increase of water mass flow rate, while increase with increase of tube length. As the tube length (15) m, the outlet hot water temperature from heat exchanger is (60.94) °C, for water mass flow rate (0.15) kg/s, and this value decrease exponentially and reach to about (7.528) °C, for water mass flow rate (2) kg/s, while for tube length (5) m, these values ranging between (43.92) °C, to (1.234) °C, respectively.

Abstract Majority problems related to climatic conditions within the infant incubator. Premature birth is from world-wide problem. control of incubator environment is a more important than others in premature infants. Premature infants are often care for infant incubators give convective heating. Where control of the oxygenconcentration,temperature, and relative humidity using Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are the main objectives of this system. Achieving the proper climatic conditions to ensure a suitable environment within the infant incubator target a lot of investigations for some time. Various plans of control theories have been applied in this area to solve the above problems.Thispaperis submitted to the "Al-Habboubi Teaching Hospital" maternity hospital in Nasiriyah. The proposed system technique by using Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC) that is used in order to simulate the infant incubator monitoring.

Abstract: The aim of this study was measuring the concentrations of cadmium and mercury in milk of nursingmothers who living in Al-Muthanna governoratein southern of Iraq, 62 samples of mother's milk were collected after six weeks of birth at the maternity and children hospital in Samawah city, from 13/11/2016 to 23/4/2017. Samples were divided according to living area, job, smoking and age. The average of cadmium and mercury concentrations were (1.09) (0.31) μg/dl respectively, the highest measured values of cadmiumandmercury concentrations were (3.62) and(0.75) μg/dlrespectively. The study showed a significant difference in the rates of cadmium and mercury concentrations of lactating mothers living in urban areas than those who living in rural areas.The rates of cadmium and mercury concentrations for employee and workers mothers were significantly higher than those of non-working mothers.Cigarette smoke had the greatest effect on levels of cadmium and mercury concentrations. These concentrations for lactating mothers who smoked or directly exposed to cigarette smoke were higher thannon-smokers. the study showed a very small increase in concentrations of cadmium and mercury among lactating mothers who are over 25 years than under age of 25 years.

Abstract

Abstract The aim of this study is to investigatingthe climate characteristics of the southern Iraqi city of Nasiriyahusing Modern-Era Retrospective Analysis for Research and Applications, version 2 (MERRA-2) data for the period 1980-2016. The data includes monthly mean values of air temperature, relative humidity, atmospheric pressure, wind speed and direction, and monthly total of rainfall. Results indicate that the temperature is ranging between 10 (during winter) and 40 oC (during summer). The city is characterized by wet winter and a very dry summer. Low pressure values prevail during summer and higher values prevails during winter. Wind speed ranges from 1 during winter to more than 7 during summer and mainly blowing form west and north west. The rainfall pattern shows that rainfall during the rainy season (October-May) in the city varies form one year to another and there is no distinct trend for rainfall. Time series and trends analysis of temperature and rainfall showed an increasing in temperature during July and slight decreasing in January. The relative humidity has showed very small variation during the period 1980-2016. The annual rainfall was found to be decreasing.

Evaluation of Toxic Effects of Blue Green algae Chroococcus sp. on Weights and Gills of the FishPoecilia sphenops

Abstract

abstract In the present study the blue green algae Chroococcus sp. was isolated and from different areas of the Euphrates River in the city of Nasiriyah after its purified and in the liquid culture medium ( Chu-10 medium). The Histopathological effects of algae on Poecilia sphenops were studied after feeding on it and for two periods of (3) days and (14) days. The weight of fishes was test decreasing the weight in the group 2 and 3 cowperal with group control histological study showed that this algae causes obvious histopathological changes in the gills, which increases its intensity and diversity with the length of the period of eating fish for algae. This changes represented by detachment of epithelial layer of the secondary gill lamellae and change in the straight shape of the secondary gill lamellae which have different shapes , Hypertrophy in some epithelial cells of the secondary gill lamellae, hyperplasia in secondary gill lamellae , aneurism and congestion of blood capillary of secondary gill lamellae, aggregation of chloride cells and necrosis in epithelial cells of the secondary gill lamellae.

Abstract

Abstract This study is designed to investigate the effect of aqueous extract of green tea leaves in kidney and liver functionsand hisological changes. It carried out on 36 wister albino male rats,which divided into six groups (each group 6 rats) and treated as following: first group which received normal saline (0.9 NaCl)as control group,second and third groupsreceived green tea (100, 200 mg/kg) respectively. While fourth group injected by gentamicin (100 mg/kg i.p), fifth and sixth groups injected by gentamicin at the same dose above, then after one hour these groups (5 and 6) administered extract of green tea at (100, 200 mg/kg) respectively, time of experment is 10 days, The results showed a significant increase (P≤0.05) in levels of urea and createnine in gentamicin group compared with control group and other groups, createnine increased significantly (P≤0.05) in sixth group compared with control group and third group (treated with extract of green tea 200 mg/kg) only. Results also revealed a significant increase (P≤0.05) in levels of Glutamic Oxaloacetic Transaminase(GOT) in gentamicin group compared with control group, in fifth group (GOT) increased significantly (P≤0.05) compared with second group (100 mg/kg) only, Glutamic pyruvic Transaminase (GPT)andAlkaline phosphatase (ALP)levels increased significantly (P≤0.05) in gentamicin group and fifth group (gentamicine+ green tea 100 mg/kg) compared with control group and other groups., also the different between these both groups was significantly (P≤0.05). Results of hisological study confirmedthe toxicity of gentamicinand protective effects of green tea leaves extract in kidney and liver.

Abstract The diffraction ring pattern and Z-scan techniques are used to estimate both the nonlinear refractive index, n2, and nonlinear absorption coefficient, β, of Henna oil using low power continuous wave (CW) visible laser beam. The values of n2 and β are obtained of 1.72 x 10-7 cm2/W and 1.21x10-3 cm/W respectively.

Abstract

Abstract At this time, most of the Arab countries were used these modern technologies just for the protest or indignation of the present services that provided from government or companies. In the developed countries were dominated on the empirical studies on the social networking tools in educational institutions. Regrettably, most of these studies were conducted in developed countries. In the same context, in the Middle East as a developing countries are deemed as the first place that harnesses the social networking tools in the political events through Arab Spring. Consequently, the current empirical study focused to determine the influence of the use social media among undergraduate student, in particular the Dhi-Qar University. The current study seeks in concentrating on the aspects of potentiality of the social media and its role in educational institutions specifically on the utilization of collaborative learning as well as the enhancement of the students’ performance as a whole in terms of academics. The study selected the students randomly from the Mass Media in Thi- Qar University. With regard to data analysis, second statistical generation (SEM-PLS) technique and the first statistical generation (SPSS v.23) were used as the instruments for analysis purpose.The results indicated that, there was a strong positive relationship between the engagement and collaborative learning and collaborative leaning with student academic performance.

Frequency of genotypes of MTHFR gene for people with Congenital heart defects in the province of Thi Qar

Abstract

Abstract: The present study aimed to detect the role of MTHFR gene and their relationship in the incidence of Congenital heart defects in Dhi Qar province, through the use of PCR- RFLP technique on this basis were collected 120 blood samples (from Nasiriyah heart Center) in tubes container on EDTA from patients with congenital heart defects ages ranging between (a month - 17 years) and 110 samples from healthy people ages ranging between (a month - 17 years) and saved directly at a temperature of - 20 ° C for use in the extraction DNA and the PCR technique. The results of the statistical analysis of the lack of correlation between polymorphism of the gene MTHFR and the incidence of congenital heart defects when compared to the comparison group And each of the mutant homogenized style(CT) (OR= 0.86 ; 95%CI= 0.41-1.81) The style of the mutant differential(TT) (OR=0.42 ; 95%CI= 0.22 - 0.79) . The results of the current study has shown an increased risk of congenital heart defects for women who have the mutant heterozygous (CT) almost twice (OR= 1.63 ; 95%CI=0.61-4.29). and the results also showed that who have the mutant heterozygous (CT) and within the age group (month - 9 years) has increased their risk of congenital heart defects (OR = 1.5 ; 95%CI= 0.36-6.23), results showed an increased risk of infection with parents smokers about almost three times (OR = 2.5) and the period of confidence (0.76 - 8.22) the presence of mutant homozygous (TT) while that possess the mutant heterozygous (CT) increased their risk more than injury twice (OR = 2.13) and the period of confidence (0.71 - 6.40).

Abstract

Abstract As we know that internet is being utilized for several activities by a great range of users andthese activities include communication, e-commerce, edification, education and regalement. Users are required to register regarding to a website in order to enroll web activities. However, registration can be done by automated hacking software. That software make erroneous enrollments which occupy the resources of the website by reducing the performance and efficiency of servers, even stop the entire web accommodation. It is critical for the websites to possess a system that has the inclination of varying human users and computer programs in perusing pictures of content.Consummately Automated Public Turing Test to Tell Computers and Human Apart (CAPTCHA) is a technique that protects websites against bots by generating and grading tests that humans can pass but current computer programs cannot. For example, humans can read distorted text, but current computer programs cannot. This study focuses on the CAPTCHA abilities of defensing a website from scammers by discussion its algorithm and practical steps to apply it in a web form.

Dynamics of quantum dot laser with direct current modulation

Abstract

Abstract: In this work, the quantum dot (QD) lasers dynamics were studied, with modulated injection current. A model of its rate equations were solved numerically using Runge-Kutta method. The effect of the modulation current amplitude, frequency and the bias dc current were included. The study shows that the QD lasers dynamics includes different behaviors such as stable, periodic, multi- periodic and self- pulsing, then the system ending to the chaotic state.

Abstract: The optical modulator or chopper is an important component in optical systems. It is a device, which changes the angle between the vision line of the target and the coordinate of an electrical signal. This paper has been designed as a new model of the fractal optical modulator. A new optical modulator involves two cycles (inner and outer). Each cycle of them consists of eighteen sections. It is known that the sections of the optical modulator become two parts, nine sections considered are transparent and the other sections are opaque to light. There are two parameters have taken to design the optical modulator, first factor is the shape and second factor is the section number. A new optical modulator is made from three materials such as (Magnesium Fluoride (MgF2), Lithium Fluoride (LiF) and Sapphire (Al2O3) by using the fractal function. So an optical modulator is created by building a computer program using the visual basic language. For the importance of the modulation transfer function (MTF) in testing and evaluating optical systems, the dependent measurement is done to know the optical systems efficiency. It has been studied the optical systems with a circular aperture, where that function could be evaluated the image efficiency for point object of image plane at different magnitude of the wavelength and thickness. In this research, the fractal optical modulator has been designed of insulator material by using the fractal function. It has been evaluated the values of MTF at different values of the wavelength and thickness. Also, we studied the relation between spatial frequency and number of sections, as well.

الخلاصة : تظمن البحث دراسة مستوى التلوث المیكروبي الذي یمكن ان یتعرض لھ الحلیب ومنتجاتھ (الجبن ،الخاثر والقشطھ) المصنعة محلیا خارج اطار المؤسسات او المعامل الصحیة ،اذ تم جلب العینات بصورة عشوائیة من اسواق محلیة مختلفھ لمحافظة (Nutrient Agar , MacConkey Agar ,Mannitol ذي قار- العراق، وزرعت العینات على خمسة اوساط زراعیة انمائیة لغرض التحري عن كل من المحتوى الكلي Potata Dextrose Agar) Salt Agar ,Malt Extract Agar and الاعفان، الخمائر على الترتیب. , Staphylococcus aureus ،Escherichia-coli ل ب لكتریا الھوائیھ، بكتریا القولون أضافھ الى أنواع Klebsiella pneumoniae ، E.coli تم تشخیص العدید من الاحیاء المجھریھ اثناء الدراسة شملت بكتریا Aspecrgillus Aspergillus fungi, , Aspergillus nidulans, Aspergillus flavus, عدیده من الاعفان مثل . ostianus , Aspergilus niger Penicillium spp., Rhizopus stolonifer أظھرت ال ت نائج ان جمیع ھذه النماذج ملوثة وبشكل كبیر ولكن تلوث المنتجات (الجبن ،الخاثر والقشطھ ) كان اكثر من تلوث اذ لم یظھر اي نمو PDA الحلیب ،وظھرارتفاع بتلوث المنطقھ الاولى لكل العینات وبكل الاوساط الزرعیھ المستخدمھ ،الا الوسط وظھر MEA 279 في الوسط C.F.U. مكروبي في الحلیب. ظھراعلى مستوى تلوث بالعفن والخمائر في خاثر المنطقھ الاولى 251 ، أما اقل مستوى للتلوث فكان C.F.U. وفي المنطقة (الاولى)ایضا Mac.A. أعلى ارتفاع لبكتریا القولون في القشطھ بالوسط على الترتیب MSA و PDA 1,1 ) في الوسطین )C.F.U. في عینتي (الجبن والقشطة ) في المنطقة الثالثة اذ كانت اعداد التلوث وكانت ھذه المنطقة اقل المناطق تلوث اً.

Abstract

Abstract The study was conducted to know the ability of the green alga Scendesmusdimorphus to accumulate four heavy elements were copper, lead, cadmium and nickel in four concentrations (5, 10, 15 and 20) mg / L for every one and then observed the effects of these elements on the shape of the cell and its internal structures by using the scanning electron microscopy technique. The results were showing that the copper ion was the least severe effect on the form and content of algae as compared with the rest of the other elements, while cadmium was the most affect among the elements that were added. The results of the absorption spectrum that the order of absorption of elements in terms of concentration was cadmium (0.78%) of the dry weight, followed by the copper percent (0.33%) of the dry weight, the nickel and its concentration (0.18%) of the dry weight while the lead element was the least accumulation, Its concentration was ( 0.10%) of dry weight.

Abstract Clustering isan unsupervised data mining technique used to extract a new knowledge. It clusters a group of objects into clusters where objects in one cluster have similar fea- tures to each other and have different features from objects in other clusters. K-means algorithm creates clusters by divides the data points into clusters according to similarity criterion. The K-means algorithm select initial centroids randomly then slow convergence points to centroids. This paper suggests a method for computing the initial centroids and fast convergence by using Quantum Particle Swarm Optimization with the global searching optimization which will give algorithm more efficient, so as to get quality clustering with reducedcomplexity.

Connection of the Mediterranean Oscillations with Temperature and Precipitation in Baghdad City

Abstract The aim of this research is to study the effects of the Mediterranean Oscillation Index: Algiers and Cairo (MOIAC) on the temperature and precipitation patterns in Baghdad city in Iraq. Data of the monthly means of the MOIAC index, the monthly means of temperature, and the monthly total of precipitation were analyzed for the period 1958-2000. Pearson’s non-parametric test was used to investigate the correlations between these three variables. The time series of temperature and precipitation showed no distinct trends. The results indicated that there is a slight correlation between MOIAC and temperature and precipitation suggesting that MOIAC has no major effects on the temperature and precipitation patterns in Baghdad city.

Abstract: The sterilization of candida albicans yeast was done by using atmospheric pressure non thermal argon plasma, the plasma jet system was used for this purpose with following operations conditions: the discharge voltage was (8) kV, with frequency (22) kHz and argon gas flow (3) l/min. This study included obtaining clinical isolate of C.albicans yeast which diagnosed initially according to its colonies appearance on SDA as a a smooth, creamy and mucosa colonies , while it characterized by a production of Pseudohyphae and the presence of chlamidospores on CMA, also it has the ability to grow at 45 C , positive to germ tube production , Gram positive oval shape cells . This study also included investigation the inhibitory effect of cold plasma at different periods of time on the yeast isolate growth, where the results obtained did not show any effect of cold plasma on the growth of the yeast during the first stage of exposure in seconds comparing to control while it was noted a decrease in growth when increasing the exposure time to minute during the second phase of treatment till yeast growth entirely down to zero when the exposure period reached 10 minutes, also This study was Investigated the inhibiting efficiency of cold plasma exposure on the ability of C.albicans yeast isolate to produced germ tube before and after exposure to a nonthermal plasma where the results showed increased in the inhibition percentage of yeast germination along with increased time of exposure from 59 % at exposure time 6 min down to 96% when the exposure time 9 min compared with the control,but the exposure to a non-thermal plasma did not demonstrated demonstrated any morphological changes in yeast cells and their acceptance of staining compared to the control not treated with cold plasma .

A Comparative Study of Multi-Thickness Zinc Telluride (ZnTe) Thin-Film Properties Fabricated Using a Software Controlled PLD Substrate Holder System at Different Deposition Temperatures

Abstract

Abstract: Multi-thickness polycrystalline zinc telluride (ZnTe) thin films were successfully deposited on TEC- 15 glass substrates at different deposition temperatures ranging from 200C0 to 400C0 by a pulsed laser technique. Two different sample sets of multi thicknesses (500nm, 750nm, and 1000nm) films have been fabricated on the same substrate using a designed software program to control a moving substrate holder that moves horizontally and vertically behind a metal blocker. This study shows the possibility of fabricating different thickness layers on the same substrate in one fabrication process using moving substrate PLD holder during the deposition. Atomic Force Microscopy indicated an improvement in the average crystallite size with the increase in film thickness and substrate deposition temperature. As well as higher surface roughness Ra was indicated for thicker layers fabricated at high temperature. XRD properties indicate that the fabricated samples are polycrystalline, and the films exhibit preferred orientation along the (111-cubic) direction, which is stronger at the highest substrate temperature and thicker layers. This study discusses the strong dependency of crystalline quality on the deposition temperature and thin film thicknesses.
