Abstract

In this paper, the benefits of using Magnetic Pulse machine which is belong to Non-conventionalmachine instead of conventional machine. Magnetic Pulse Technology is used for joiningdissimilar metals, and for forming and cutting metals. It is a non contact technique. Magneticfield is used to generate impact magnetic pressure for welding and forming the work piece byconverted the electrical energy to mechanical energy. It is enable us to design previously notpossible by welding dissimilar materials and allowing to welds light and stronger materialstogether. It can be used to weld metallic with non metallic materials to created mechanical lockon ceramics, polymers, rubbers and composites. It is green process; there is no heat, noradiation, no gas, no smoke and sparks, therefore the emissions are negligible

Abstract

Single roll melt spinning is a non-conventional forming process used to produce rapidly solidified thin ribbons as a near net shaper by direct casting from liquid state. In this paper, single roll made from brass with a diameter of 150 mm was used to produce rapidly solidified Al-Mg alloys ribbons. The ribbons are produced with thickness in the range of 20 to 330 μm. The results exhibited unique advantages in refining the microstructure, and modifying the mechanical properties of these ribbons. The hardness was improved to about twice the original hardness of alloy. Moreover, corrosion resistance of alloy was improved and their rate was redcued from 10.02 to 1.643 mpy for alloy type 5052 and from 6.91 to 1.943 mpy for 5083.

Abstract

The present numerical study compares between spray characteristics of diesel and soybean oil methyl ester (SME biodiesel) under non-evaporating sprays. The spray structure of diesel and biodiesel fuel (soybean oil) in a common rail injection system are investigated and compared with that of available experimental data used image processing and atomization performance analysis. The proposed approach for the liquid phase, which based on the sprays’ statistical properties, is used to present the gas and liquid phases in an Eulerian-Eulerian approach. The main concept for this model is the possibility of describing a poly disperses spray by using moments of a drop number size distribution function. The main reason for less spray tip penetration in the (SME) comparing with diesel because a larger droplet diameters is the higher density, surface tension and viscosity of (SME). The fuel properties effect on the near nozzle structure is studied. The comparisons are referring that the spray drag, breakup and collision processes are promoted.
