Abstract

In this paper the dynamic behavior of linear induction motor is described by a mathematicalmodel taking into account the end effects and the core losses. The need for such a model rises dueto the complexity of linear induction motors electromagnetic field theory. The end affects byintroducing speed dependent scale factor to the magnetizing inductance and series resistance inthe d-axis equivalent circuit. Simulation results are presented to show the validity of the modelduring both no-load and sudden load change intervals. This model can also be used directly insimulation researches for linear induction motor vector control drive systems

في هذا البحث تم وصف واستنتاج نموذج رياضي للتصرف الديناميكي للمحرك ألحثي الخطي اخذين بنظر الاعتبار التأثيرات المغناطيسيةللنهايات الطرفية ومفقودات القلب الحديدي للمحرك ألحثي الخطي. أن الحاجة لمثل هذا النموذج جاء نتيجة للتعقيد الواضح في النموذج الرياضي الذيكان يعتمد على النظرية الكهرومغناطيسية للمحرك ألحثي الخطي أثناء التحليل. أن التأثير الناتج من النهايات الطرفية المفتوحة للمحرك ألحثي الخطي قد تمأخذه بنظر الاعتبار في نموذج الدائرة المكافئة للمحرك ألحثي الخطي وذلك بإضافة معامل يعتمد على سرعة المحرك الى محاثة المغنطة ومقاومة الى الدائرةالمكافئة باتجاه المحور المباشر. تم استعراض نتائج المحاكاة للنموذج المقترح للمصادقة على صحة عمله علمًا انه يمكن استخدام النموذج المقترح في منظوماتمحاكاة سوق المحركات الحثية الخطية بصورة مباشرة.

Abstract

The paper dells with a modified experimentalprototype for pulse-width modulation (PWM) sliding modecontrol (SMC) applied to a DC-to-DC-boost converter operatedin continuous conduction mode (CCM). Experimental resultsshow that the proposed control schme provides good voltageregulation and is suitable for common DC-to-DC conversionpurposes. The prototype and its implementation are given indetail. The static and dynamic performances of the The staticand dynamic performances of the experimental system arerecorded. Experimental results show that the proposed controlscheme provides good voltage regulation and is suitable forcommon DC-to-DC conversion purposes.

Abstract

This study presents a speed control design for switchedreluctance motor (SRM) drive based on PID controller. Theapplications of Switched Reluctance Motors (SRMs) have beingincreased day by day, but this type of motors represents a highlynonlinear system, therefore there are a lot of difficulties inmodeling and controlling them. We have proposed a non-linearmathematical model of a four phases 8/6 poles SRM thensimulated it through Simulink/Matlab facilities. The wholecontrol mechanism consists of a hysteresis current controller tominimize the torque ripple and a PID speed controller. Thecontrol design results are then validated in real-time bySimulink/Matlab software package.

Abstract

A five-phase two-motor drive system with series connection of stator windings and decoupled dynamic control is considered in the present paper. The two-motor drive system is supplied from a single five-phase Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM) Voltage Source Inverter (VSI) and controlled using vector control scheme, provided that the stator windings are connected in series with appropriate phase transposition. The concept has been developed under the assumption that the inverter voltages are controlled in the stationary dq reference frame. A fuzzy logic based speed controller has been constructed and used to drive the two-motor in this work. The two-motor system. inverter system, and the fuzzy controller models are implemented and tested using SirnulinklMatlab facilities. The presented results show the validity of the model to do well for the sake of speed control under different operating conditions.
