Abstract

In this paper, a novel and effective method for impulse noise removal in corrupted color images is discussed. The new method consists of three phases. The first phase is a noise detection phase where a modified self-organizing neural network is used to detect impulse noise pixels. The second is a noise filtering phase process is performed in recursive manner. Third phase is Histogram Equalizer the processed (output) image is obtained by mapping each pixel with level rk in the input image into a corresponding pixel with levels sk in the output image is presented. we propose a technique based on impulse noise detection by means of a self-organizing neural network and a class of the Modified Progressive Switching Median Filter(MPSM) that can remove impulse noise effectively while preserving details. Also, we add a histogram equalizer filter at the output of our proposed system in order to enhance the final output images. Experimental results demonstrate that the performance of the proposed technique is superior to that of the traditional median filter family for impulse noise removal in image applications.

Abstract

AbstractThis paper presents new algorithm for speech signals compression using wavelet transform technique with scalar quantization methods and Huffman coding. The performance of the implemented algorithm is evaluated based on Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR), Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR), Normalized Root Mean Square Error (NRMSE) and compression ratio and tested on 8 kHz 8-bit speech signals. In this paper a Wavelet, based speech coder is implemented in software using Matlab. The major issues concerning the design of this wavelet based speech coder are choosing optimal wavelets for speech signals, decomposition level in the Discrete Wavelet Transform(DWT) and threshold criteria for coefficient truncation and efficient encoding. The performances of the wavelet compression scheme on both male and female spoken sentences were compared.

Abstract

This paper applied PCA on infertility set of data, that was collected from Al-Nasiriya province. Infertility of women that have been unable to conceive a child after one year of their marriage without birth control. Since infertility is very common among Iraqi women. Hence our research mainly concern with this disease in order to identify the causes that contribute to this problem.
