Abstract

Novel copper(II), cadmium(II) and zinc(II) complexes of general formula, [M(NNS)2] (NNS = uninegatively charged tridentate ligands formed by condensation of 6-methyl pyridine-2-carbaldehyde with 2-methylbenzyl hydrazinecarbodithioate) have been synthesized and characterized using different physico-chemical techniques. The complexes have tetrahedral geometry for Zn(II) and Cd(II) complexes while Cu(II) expected to has square planner structure with the ligands coordinated to the metal ions as uninegatively charged tridentate chelating agents via the pyridine nitrogen, the azomethine nitrogen and the mercaptide sulphur atoms. The new compounds expected to shows bioactivity against bacteria, fungi and against cancer cells

Abstract

A new tridentate ligand has been synthesized derived from phenyl(pyridin-3-yl)methanone. Three coordinated metal complexes were prepared by complexation of the new ligand with Cu(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II) metal salts. The new Schiff base “benzyl -2-[phenyl(pyridin-3-yl)methylidene]hydrazinecarbodithioate” and the new metal complexes were characterized using various physico-chemical and spectroscopic techniques. From the analysis results, the expected structure to the metal complexes are octahedral in geometry for Cu(II) complex, square planner for Ni(II) and tetrahedral for Zn(II) complex. The new compounds are expected to show strong bioactivity against bacteria and cancer cells.

تم تخليق معقد ثلاثي المنح جديد مشتق من فنيل(بريدين-3-يل)ميثانون. وتم تحضير ثلاثة معقدات فلزية تناسقبة بواسطة تفاعل المعقد الجديد مع املاح فلزات النحاس(ΙΙ),النيكل(ΙΙ) و الخارصين(ΙΙ). وقد تم تشخيص قاعدة شيف الجديدة بنزيل-2-[فنيل(بريدين-3-يل)مثيليدين]هيدرازين كاربودايثاوات و معقدات الفلزات الجديدة باستخدام تقنيات فيزيو كيميائية و تقنيات طيفية.وقد تبين من نتائج التحليل بأن الشكل الهندسي المتوقع لمعقدات الفلزات هو الشكل ثماني الاضلاع لمعقد النحاس(ΙΙ),و الشكل رباعي السطوح لمعقد النيكل(ΙΙ) و رباعي الاضلاع لمعقد الخارصين(ΙΙ). ويتوقع بأن تظهر المركبات الجديدة فعالية بايلوجية قوية ضد البكتريا و الخلايا السرطانية.

Abstract

A new nitrogen sulphur Schiff base has been prepared from the condensation 1-(pyridin-4-yl)ethanone with 2-methylbenzyl hydrazinecarbodithioate. The ligand was reacted with Ni(II), Cd(II) and Zn(II) metal salts to form new coordinated complexes. The new 2-methylbenzyl (2Z)-2-[1-(pyridin-4-yl)ethylidene]hydrazinecarbodithioate ligand and the new metal complexes were characterized via various physico-chemical and spectroscopic techniques and based on the data analysis the metal complexes are expected to be octahedral in geometry. The Schiff bases and their complexes were screened for antimicrobial and cytotoxic activities. [Cd(NS)2] displays strong activity against the bacteria strains and cytotoxicity while the other compounds shows moderate and weak activity

Abstract

A new ligand 4-methylbenzyl (2E)-2-[1-(pyridin-3-yl) ethylidene] hydrazinecarbodithioate (PE4MBHC) with nitrogen sulphur donor sequence was prepared from the reaction between 1-(pyridin-3-yl)ethanone (PE) and 4-methylbenzyl hydrazinecarbodithioate (4MBHC). Complexes of this ligand with Cu(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II) were synthesized and characterized using elemental analysis and various physicochemical techniques. The metal complexes were six coordinated and all the new compounds were tested against different bacteria and fungi and also against two breast cancer cells. All metal complexes showed moderate activity against microbes while copper and nickel shows strong activity against MCF7 and MDAMB231 respectively

Abstract

Novel bidentate Schiff bases having nitrogen-sulphur donor sequence was synthesized from condensation of racemate camphor, (R)-camphor and (S)-camphor with Methyl hydrazinecarbodithioate (SMDTC). Its metal complexes were also prepared through the reaction of these ligands with silver and bismuth salts. All complexes were characterized by elemental analyses and various physico-chemical techniques. These Schiff bases behaved as uninegatively charged bidentate ligands and coordinated to the metal ions via β-nitrogen and thiolate sulphur atoms. The NS Schiff bases formed complexes of general formula, [M(NS)2] or [M(NS)2.H2O] where M is BiIII or AgI, the expected geometry is octahedral for Bi(III) complexes while Ag(I) is expected to oxidized to Ag(II) forming square planner complexes.

تم تحضير قواعد شف ثنائية جديدة والحاوية على ذرات النتروجين والكبريت المانحة من تكاثف الكافور الراسيمي (ر-كامفور) و (س-كامفور) مع مثيل هايدرازين كاربوداي ثايويت (SMDTC ). لقد تم تحضير معقداتها الفلزية من تفاعل الليكاندات مع املاح الفضة والبزموث. تم تشخيص كافة المعقدات باستخدام وسائل التحليل والتقنيات الفيزيائية- الكيميائية. قواعد شف تسلك سلوك اليكاندات الثنائية المانحة والاحادية الشحنة السالبة وتتناسق مع الايونات الفلزية من خلال البيتا نايتروجين وذرة الكبريت الثايولوية. قواعد شف النايتروجينية الكبريتية تكون معقدات ذات الصيغة العامة [M(NS)2] or [M(NS)2.H2O] حيث يمثل M اما AgI او BiIII . الشكل الهندسي المتوقع هو ثماني السطوح لمعقدات البزموث بينما يتوقع لايون الفضة الاحادي ان يتاكسد الى ايون الفضة الثنائي Ag(II) ليكون معقدات رباعية السطوح
