Abstract

Interleavers are essential system components for interleave division multiple access (IDMA). In this paper, two-stage interleavers are proposed based on two optimization criteria combines minimum spreading distance with regular permutation and randomization properties to have almost the same advantages of the random distribution, and yet guaranties an enlarged minimum spread distance. Simulationresults show sufficiently good performance with much less resource consumption compared to multiple random interleavers. The proposed method may also find other application areas such as multi-dimensional concatenated codes. In addition, an efficient and simple procedure is proposed to generate orthogonal interleavers by using the well-known Walsh-Hadamard transform.

Abstract

Abstract –Recently, the on-line health monitoring have been considered in the research to obtain pragmatic e-health systems with low cost and high efficiency. In this paper, a mobile e-health system is proposed based on an algorithm over long terms evolution (LTE) technology that can be called as fourth generation (4G). This system controls the receiving of the transmitted health data from the patients under supervision and replies the responses of the considered algorithm. The responded signals include the required actions that should be performed by the patient and the hospital. The proposed system utilizes the LTE based mobile networks for the signal transmission to save the consumed cost spent on installing a specific wireless network. In other words, the patients involved in the proposed system are connected to the available mobile networks that cover the area. Additionally, the sensor readings are transmitted either from the patient's mobile device or from other consoles, which have ability to connect and synchronize with the considered mobile network. The simulation results show an efficient performance of the proposed system in terms of data transmission, control signals and decision..Keywords – E-health systems, LTE, Wireless communication systems.

Abstract

The health sensor is one of the technologies of the Wireless Sensor Network for Medical (WSNFM), which has a wide range of sensors that can be used to check a person’s health data. In this work, a health sensor system is used to monitor a patient inside the ambulance along the way to the emergency department at a hospital. The system sends the vital readings to the emergency department using web based application and then save them in the server database. Two main types of sensors are used which are: body temperature and pulse rate sensors. The proposed system includes three main parts: hardware components at the ambulance, website, and SQL server at the hospital. The website is designed using ASP.net and PHP environments, while the database at the hospital is built utilizing SQL server 2012 in addition to visual studio C# for graphical User Interfacing (GUI). Simply, the readings of sensors are transferred from the ambulance using the internet throughout a website to the SQL server at hospital. The achieved results show a superior performance of the presented system in obtaining the designed target as well as high accuracy and efficiency.

Abstract

The agriculture is vulnerable and sensitive to climate changes. These changes reduce the production while encouraging the growth of bush, which lead to water consumption extravagantly. In this paper, we proposed an automatic drip irrigation system based on calculating the required crop water and irrigation depth. The aim of the proposed system is to automatically compute irrigation scheduling of certain crop according to a crop type and climatological conditions. This system includes two parts: hardware and control center. The sensors send their real-time readings of the soil moisture and climatic information to the monitoring part of the system wirelessly and then save them in database server. The hardware part consists of a main unit represented by ARDUINO Uno and sensors of soil moisture and DHT11. The wireless communication link between the hardware and control center parts are covered using Bluetooth HC-06. In the control center, the database is built using SQL server 2015 and the related Graphical User Interface (GUI) frames is designed using Visual Studio C#. The proposed system has been presented in a prototype to represent the case study and the obtained results show a clear reduction of power and water consumption.

Abstract

Recent advances in the control applications based on hand nerve signals are able to meet the needs of users who suffer from restrictions in limb movement and also provide high performance control for those paralyzed people. These signals are represented as Electromyography (EMG) signals, which are biomedical ones, used for clinical/biomedical applications. In this work, a control signals generation system is proposed based on hand EMG measurements. The process of acquisition and processing of EMG signals is performed by only one channel surface EMG electrodes with one EMG processing unit as a muscle sensor. In this work, Arduino UNO is adopted as an analog to digital converter for these hand nerve signals to be easily analyzed in the classification process. These signals are measured from the skin surface of forearm and biceps muscles in two suggested case studies to be used in generating signals based on ten muscles movements. The main features that crystallized this research is building a smart control algorithm which increases the flexibility of generating precise control signals based on contracted hand movements with high simplicity of use and the low cost. The obtained results are compared to other systems results to show the ability of achieving 93.81% classification rate or accuracy among other systems.

Abstract

Robust and accurate indoor localization has been the goal of several research efforts over the past decade. In the building where the GPS is not available, this project can be utilized. Indoor localization based on image matching techniques related to deep learning was achieved in a hard environment. So, if it wanted to raise the precision of indoor classification, the number of image dataset of the indoor environment should be as large as possible to satisfy and cover the underlying area. In this work, a smartphone camera is used to build the image-based dataset of the investigated building. In addition, captured images in real time are taken to be processed with the proposed model as a test set. The proposed indoor localization includes two phases the first one is the offline learning phase and the second phase is the online processing phase. In the offline learning phase, here we propose a convolutional neural network (CNN) model that sequences the features of image data from some classis's dataset composed with a smartphone camera. In the online processing phase, an image is taken by the camera of a smartphone in real–time to be tested by the proposed model. The obtained results of the prediction can appoint the expected indoor location. The proposed system has been tested over various experiments and the obtained experimental results show that the accuracy of the prediction is almost 98.0%.

Abstract

Abstract –Wireless sensor networks undergo tremendous applications to be utilized for. In this paper, we propose a wireless ad hoc sensor network architecture that does not depend on a centralized unit to urban city’s vehicular control, by applying different sensors distribution for main and side streets. On this architecture, we define and evaluate through simulation the effectiveness of our work against the traditional fixed-time traffic light model. Traffic lights coordination is addressed in master and local controllers by executing green-wave algorithm at our architecture. Simulation results show that this architecture achieves great reduction in total waiting time on the city been projected

Abstract

Recently, the dental X-Ray images have been used in different applications, particularly in the forensic field. The researchers focuses on the separation of the underlying teeth individually to obtain their features. These features can be utilized as a key solution for the identifications. In this paper, an edge detection of the involved teeth is proposed using a three stages MATLAB algorithm based on different methods such as, CLAHE, Canny, Otsu's, and 8-Connectivity. In addition, the proposed algorithm extracts the features of the investigated teeth as an exported file. These features are Standard Deviation (STD), Euler number and Area which are extracted from the bite-wing images. The stages of the proposed algorithm are image segmentation, classification and features extraction. It is important to note that the missing teeth has been considered in case of appearance. The missing teeth are assumed to be a separated objects. This is to overtake the problem of missing teeth after registering the original ones in the stored database used for identifications. The obtained results show the clear outperformance of the proposed algorithm in terms of edge detection and features’ extraction. The missing teeth in an image are tested and the achieved results presents the detection and features of such teeth dramatically. The proposed system is implemented and tested in the MATLAB software environment using a personal computer of a Core(TM) i7 processor and 6 GB RAM over a 64-Windows 10 operating system.

Web Based E-Hospital Management System

Abstract

Hospital Management System (HMS) is a computerizing scheme used to simplify several efforts of the working in a hospital. The system deals with all the requirements of different hospitals to offer efficient services to patients. In addition, it stores the patients’ information for long term for historical records. In this paper, we design and implement a web based HMS for group of hospitals in Iraq. The system provides an efficient link between the hospital’s departments including the laboratories, radiology, pharmacy and the consultants. The proposed system gives simple access to basic data, thus enabling the management to take better decisions on time. The website is designed using PHP, HTML and CSS environments, while the database is built utilizing MySQL version 5.7.11. As a case study, two hospitals (Margan in Babylon and Ibn-Alnafees in Baghdad) have been considered. The results show that the proposed system has achieved high performance and accuracy in terms of provided health services, data management and time consuming.

Abstract

This research deals with the using of correlation measurement that leads todescribing the degree of relationship between variables, quantities or qualities. Therefore,we implement a simple correlation coefficient and conditional correlation to introduce aregular vine copula, which gives different tree structures. Two methods to select treestructures are introduced. The first one adopts the Partial Correlation Constant (PCC)with constant, while the second method depends on the estimation of summation pathway.The proposed method makes modification on Diβmann’s algorithm to increase thedependency on each level of the tree using rank correlation measurement. Both methodsare adopted to construct the best model with more than three dimensions based on theavailable label crime dataset in Iraq. The selected model is used for selecting the suitabletree model and generating a decision with the low dimensionality of variables.
