Abstract

This study was designed to investigate the effect of different replacementlevels of fishmeal with Spirulina sp. on growth performance and some blood parametersof common carp Cyprinus carpio L., the trail was conducted for 105 days and for thispurpose 200 fingerlings common carp. Mean initial weight was 32.7g. The fish wereacclimated to laboratory conditions and fed with control pellets (32% crude protein)prior to the feeding trials for 21 days. Five experimental diets were used and Spirulinareplaced fishmeal protein from the standard diet at 0% (T1), 5% (T2), 10% (T3), 15%(T4) and 20% (T5) levels. No differences observed among the treatments in the Liverindex, Gonadosomato index were 6.489, 5.680, 5.339, 4.009 and 3.770 for the (T3),(T4), (T5), (T2) and (T1) respectively, results of statistical analysis showed nosignificant (P<0.05) different among all treatments but the higher value of GSI andLiver index found in T3.

Abstract

This experiment was conducted for 70 days on 165 common carp Cyprinus carpio fingerlings which were brought from local fish farms located in Daqooq, Haftaghar, Al-Tameem province. Fishes were distributed among experimental tanks with mean initial weight of 24.09 gm. They were pre-acclimated to laboratory conditions for 21 days prior to the feeding trials. The experiment was conducted by using 15 plastic tanks (100 L) representing five treatments with three replicates. Each tank was stocked with 11 fishes. Treatments included 0, 2.5, 5.0, 7.5 or 10 gm grape by-product/ kg diet. The result showed that red blood cell (RBC) data of the control group was significantly higher than other treatments. Hemoglobin of fishes in groups 2.5 and 10 gm/ kg diet was significantly different from other treatments. Mean corpuscular hemoglobin (MCH) values for 0.0, 5.0 and 10 gm/kg groups were significantly different, so mean corpuscular volume (MCV) values showed significant differences resulted from 0.0, 5.0, 7.5 and 10 gm/ kg diet compared to 2.5 gm/ kg diet group. The white blood cells (WBC) were significantly different in 2.5, 5.0 and 7.5 gm/ kg diet. Granulocyte percentages obtained in all treatments were significantly different from control. Lymphocyte percentages were significantly different in all treatments compared to 10 gm/ kg diet group. The Monocytes were significantly different in 2.5, 7.5 and 10 gm/ kg groups.

Abstract

This study was carried out at fish laboratory of Animal Production Department, college of Agriculture, university of Sulaimaniya using commercial dry yeast probiotics (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) in three concentration ( 3%, 5% and 7%) to study their effects on growth performance of common carp fingerlings( Cyprinus carpio) fed diets and some of water parameters.The experiment was included nine treatments each in three replicates (plastic aquaria) in which 10 fingerlings common carp of the same size and weight (3.5 gram) were stocked in each aquarium. The actual experimental feeding trials durated for three months. Results indicated that thethird treatment(7% concentration of the yeast) giving more weight gain, growth rate and best relative growth weight.Monthly samples of water were taken from each pond for measuring water quality control, temperature and dissolved oxygen, BOD5, pH, EC (dc/m), TDS, No2 (mgl-1 No2-N), No3 (mgl-1 No3-N).

أجريت هذه الدراسة في مختبر الاسماك من قسم الإنتاج الحيواني، كلية الزراعة، جامعة السليمانية باستخدام الخميرة الجافة التجاري (المعزز الحيوي) (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) في ثلاث تراكيز (3 ٪ و 5 ٪ و 7 ٪) لدراسة تأثيرها على أداء نمو إصبعيات الكارب الشائع (Cyprinus carpio) وبعض القياسات البيئية لمياه التجربة. وقد شملت التجربة تسع معاملات بثلاث مكررات (أحواض بلاستيكية) واحتوت كل منها على 10 إصبعيات من أسماك الكارب العادي (3.5 غرام) في كل حوض. استمرت التجارب الفعلية التجريبية مدة ثلاثة أشهر. وأشارت النتائج الى ان المعاملة الثالثة (تركيز 7 ٪ من الخميرة اعطت اكثر زيادة وزنية ، وأفضل معدل نمو والوزن النسبي. تم اخذ العينات من المياه شهريا من كل حوض لقياس درجة الحرارة والأوكسجين المذاب وBOD5 وpH وEC (dc/m) و TDS و No2 (mgl-1 No2-N)وNo3 (mgl-1 No3-N)

Abstract

This study was carried out to examine the effect of Fructooligosaccharide as a source of prebiotic, and commercial dry yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) as a source of probiotic and their combination in different level as a source of synbiotic. The experiment was conducted in the fish laboratory of Animal Production Department, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of Sulaimani University. The trials lasted for three months after 21 days of adapting period 120 common carp fingerlings with an average weight of 20 ±2 gm, were used to test the effect of different levels of the Fructooligosaccharide, yeast and their combination. In T1 fish were fed a diet with 2.5 gm/kg Fructooligosaccharide, in T2, fish were fed a diet 2.5 gm/kg yeast, T3 represents the third treatment, in which fish were fed on a diet 5 gm/kg Fructooligosaccharide. While, in T4 fish were fed a diet 5 gm/kg yeast, and T5 2.5 Fructooligosaccharide: 2.5 Yeast (gm/kg), T6 was 5 Fructooligosaccharide: 5 yeast (gm/kg), T7 2.5 Fructooligosaccharide: 5 Yeast gm/kg), while T8 5 Fructooligosaccharide, 2.5 (gm/kg) Yeast. Each treatment in three replicates in which five fingerlings common carp were stocked in plastic tanks, which fed the experimental diets twice daily. Blood parameters of tested fish showed significant differences in Red blood cell count (1012 cells/l) in T5 and T7 by 1.235 and 1.260, respectively. Hemoglobin (g/dl) data were 117.000 in the fifth treatment. The mean corpuscular hemoglobin (pg/cell) was 121.400 in T2, 137.850 in T3, 121.050 in T4, and 135.300 in T6; mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (g/l) was 924.000, in the seventh treatment, mean corpuscular volume were (fL) 232.500 and 233.050 in T4 and T8 respectively. There were different effects of the treatment in the studied blood parameters in which the level of 2.5 g/kg in both Fructooligosaccharide and dry yeast affect significantly the Red blood cell, White blood cell and Hemoglobin.

Abstract

This study was conducted in Ranya Lakelet/Dukan, the study started at the end December of 2014 to early April of 2015, heavy metal concentration in water, sediment and fish organs (skin, gills, intestine, liver and muscle.). The experiment was conducted in the laboratory of Chemistry Department, Faculty of Science at University of Raparin, Sulaimani, Kurdistan Region - Iraq. The trials for the sampling species lasted for three months (January, February and March). Sixty eight common carp taken as a sample, then divided into four length groups (20-30(19 fishes); 31-40(29 fishes); 41-50(11 fishes); 51> cm (9 fishes)). Heavy metals contents analysed in water, sediment and fish organs, including Cadmium (Cd), Zinc (Zn), Nickel (Ni), Chromium (Cr), Copper (Cu) and Lead (Pb). The study results showed that the mean concentrations heavy metals (Cd, Zn, Ni, Cr, Cu and Pb) were below detection limit (1µg/L) except Zn, which it was 8.18 µg/L in filtered water. Whereas, the mean concentrations of heavy metals (Cd, Zn, Ni, Cr, Cu and Pb) in sediments were 6.90 µg/L, 146.29 µg/L, 151.46 µg/L, 161.74 µg/L, 38.86 µg/L and 92.49 µg/L, respectively. The higher concentrations of heavy metal (Cd, Zn, Ni, Cr, Cu and Pb) in different organs were 0.69 µg/L, 6352.84 µg/L, 16.52 µg/L, 9.25 µg/L, 42.18 µg/L, and 11.44 µg/L, respectively. While the lower concentration of heavy metal (Cd, Zn, Ni, Cr, Cu and Pb) in different organs were BDL, 208.53 µg/L, 2.93 µg/L, 2.93 µg/L, 20.13 µg/L, BDL, respectively. This study showed that storing of heavy metals occurs by this order; Zn>Cu>Ni>Cr>Cd>Pb. Although the trend of heavy metals concentrations according to length groups generally represented as follows; group4> group3> group2> group1.

أجريت الدراسة الحالية في بحيرة رانية/ التابعة لبحيرة دوكان، للفترة من نهاية شهر كانون الاول من 2014 الى بداية شهر مايس من 2015. شملت الدراسة قياس بعض العناصر الثقيلة (الكادميوم، الزنك، النيكل، الكروم، النحاس، الرصاص) في الماء والرواسب وبعض أعضاء (الجلد، الكبد، الغلاصم، الامعاء، عضلات) جسم الاسماك. أجريت الدراسة في مختبر الاسماك في قسم علوم الكيميا / جامعة رابةرين/ السليمانية/إقليم كردستان، العراق. أجريت هذه الدراسة لبيان تأثيرها على الحالة الصحية العامة لأسماك الكارب الشائع (Cyprinus carpio) في البحيرة. صيدت 68 سمكة كارب عادي والتي قسمت الى أربع مجاميع طولية ( 20-30 (19 سمكة): 31-40(29 سمكة) : 41-50(11 سمكة) : 51<(9 سمكة)) سم، والتي أستخدمت لدراسة تركيز محتواها من بعض العناصر الثقيلة (الكادميوم، الزنك، النيكل، الكروم، النحاس، الرصاص)في كل من الماء والرواسب وفي كل من جلد وغلاصم و الامعاء وكبد وعضلات أسماك الكارب العادي. وجد أن متوسط تركيز العناصر الثقيلة (الكادميوم، الزنك، النيكل، الكروم، النحاس، الرصاص ) كانت غير محسوسة ماعدا الزنك االتي µg/L 8.18 وفي الرواسب كانت 6.90 µg/L, 146.29 µg/L, 151.46 µg/L, 161.74 µg/L, 38.86 µg/L و 92.49 µg/L على التوالي. كانت اعلى التراكيز للعناصر الثقيلة (الكادميوم، الزنك، النيكل، الكروم، النحاس، الرصاص ) في بعض أعضاء جسم السمكة 0.69 µg/L, 6352.84 µg/L, 16.52 µg/L, 9.25 µg/L, 42.18 µg/L و 11.44 µg/L على التوالي، بينما أقل التراكيز كانت BDL, 208.53 µg/L, 2.93 µg/L, 2.93 µg/L, 20.13 µg/L, BDL على التوالي. أظهرت نتائج الدراسة الحالية بأن تسلسل العناصر كانت كالآتى: الزنك> النحاس> النيكل> الكروم> الكادميوم> الرصاص. وتمثل ترتيب العناصر الثقيلة بالنسبة للمجاميع الطولية بالآتي: group4> group3> group2> group1.

Abstract

The study is aiming to know the shelf-life of some imported frozen beef meat (Fakher, Reem, Bertin) to Sulaimani as compared to local meat by evaluation of some chemical, quality, sensory and bacterial characteristics. Within the chemical characteristics, the highest percent protein was observed in the local (21.78±0.62) while the lowest was noticed in the Reem Company (16.52±0.69). The highest percent fat obtained in Reem (7.65±0.43) but the local and Bertin gave the lowest percent (3.86±0.3 and 3.13±0.23 respectively). Quality characteristics studied the highest free fatty acids (FFA) observed in the local (1.91±0.25) and Bertin (1.91±0,21 ) beef meat samples, while the water holding capacity (WHC) in the Fakher was the highest (64±2.52) and the lowest in the local(41±4.48) . However, the meat pigment studied of the local was highest (136±0.91) as compared with the other studied companies. The higher significant differences in pH obtained in local (6.22) but the other companies were differed significantly. The Regarding sensory characteristics studies (Tenderness, juiciness, flavor and public acceptability), the local meat was better and higher significantly than other companies. Higher significant differences in the aerobic plate counted in the Fakher, while the lowest was in the local samples. Total coliform bacteria and pscyrophilic bacterial count showed that; the lowest value was given by the local meat but the higher in the Reem.

الخلاصةتهدف الدراسة الحالية الى معرفة مدى صلاحية بعض لحوم الابقار المجمدة المستوردة (فاخر، ريم، بيرتن) الى السليمانية مقارنة مع عينات لحم بقر محلية عن طريق تقييم بعض الصفات الكيميائية والنوعية والحسية والميكروبية. في الخصائص الكيميائية، كانت أعلى نسبة بروتين في العينات المحلية(21.78±0.62) بينما أقلها في شركة ريم(16.52±0.69). تم الحصول على أعلى نسبة دهون في شركة ريم(7.65±0.43) بينما أدناها كانت في العينات المحلية وبيرتن(3.86±0.3 and 3.13±0.23) على التوالي. اما الخصائص النوعية فلوحظت أعلى نسبة الأحماض الدهنية الحرة في عينات اللحم المحلية(1.91±0.25) وبيرتن(1.91±0,21 ). في حين أن اعلى قدرة استيعابية للمياه كانت في عينات شركة فاخر(64±2.52) وأدناها في المحلية(41±4.48). في حين أن صفة صباغ اللحم المدروسة كانت الأعلى في عينات اللحم المحلية(136±0.91) مقارنة مع غيرها من الشركات التي شملتها الدراسة. تم الحصول على فروقات معنوية في درجة الحموضة (6.22) في العينات المحلية بينما إختلفت كثيرا بين الشركات الأخرى. كانت عينات اللحم المحلية الافضل والاعلى معنويا في جميع الخصائص الحسية المدروسة (الطراوة والعصيرية والنكهة والقبول العام) مقارنة بالشركات الاخرى. لوحظ وجود اختلافات معنوية كبيرة في العد الكلي للبكتريا في عينات لحوم شركة فاخر بينما ادناها كانت في عينات المحلية. كانت أدنى المعدلات للعد الكلي لبكتيريا القولون والبكتيريا المحبة للبرودة في اللحوم المحلية ولكن أعلاها في عينات شركة ريم.
