Abstract

In this work, a continuous wave semiconductor diode laser (GaAlAs) which emits radiation at 810 nm and power of 2W maximum was used to ablate caries enamel and dentine from extracted human teeth in conjunction with specialized diode laser absorbing dye “indocyanine green”. This technique offers selective ablation with minimal risk of thermal damage to surrounding dental tissues because the uptake of the dye and its irradiation by the diode laser together control the ablation.

شبه موصل موجةِ مستمرِ لليزر (GaAlAs) الذي يَبْعثُ الإشعاعَ في 810 nm وقوَّة 2 واط كحَدّ أعلى اُستَعملُ لإسْتِئْصال نخر المينا وعاجِ ِ الأسنان الإنسانيةِ المُنْتَزعةِ باستخدام ليزرَ يَمتصُّ صبغاً "أخضر indocyanine ". توفر هذه التقنيةِ بالخطرِ الأقل ما يمكنِ مِنْ الضررِ الحراريِ إلى أنسجةِ المحيطةِ بالأسنانِ لأن منفذَ الصبغِ وإنارتِه بليزرِ شبه الموصل يُسيطرانِ على الإستئصالِ سوية.

Abstract

The verse (35) in SURA (AL- Nur) in the HOLY QURAN has inspired the author to look into the possibility of using Olive Oil as active dye laser material. Olive Oil which is classified as organic compound, having a good properties candidate it to be used as active dye laser material. The emission spectrum diagrams at some of absorption peaks (414, 536, 632 and 670) nm will be measured. These diagrams have been used to determine the Fluorescence quantum yield, Oscillator strength, Einstein coefficients for the spontaneous emission, Radiative and Fluorescence lifetime and absorption and cross sections. It has been found that fluorescence occurs at 669 nm for the entire absorption spectrum. Fluorescence of Olive Oil has been experimented using 30mW, 532nm semiconductor laser, with a beam diameter of 1.3mm. Red fluorescence has been noticed over a distance of 7cm in a glass container.

Abstract

In this work, the effect of active medium temperature on output characteristics of a pulsed dye laser was studied. Two dyes, R6G and RB, were used as laser active medium. Under free-running operation, 35mJ maximum output energy and 100Ps pulse duration were obtained with presence of oxygen as a quencher. Results presented in this work showed that output characteristics such as laser pulse energy, emission linewidth, beam divergence and overall efficiency are reasonably affected by temperature. Optimum values of such features requires system to operate at temperature of 10°C which represents the optimum operating temperature. These results may benefit to determine the optimum operating temperature of a pulsed dye laser due to system design considerations.

Abstract

The absorption and fluorine spectra of dissolved fluorescein solution in ethanol and different concentrations were studied.The optical properties(absorbance, permeability, linear absorption and refractive index, as well as time and fluoridation)were calculated. The results showed that a decrease in concentration leads to a decrease in absorption values and an increase in permeability values.This results in a decrease in the values of the absorption coefficient and refractive index. This is in accordance with Lambert's law. Also, the values of the fluorine are lower. The top of the emission spectrum is transferred to the longer wavelengths.The temporal age of fluoride decreases and the quantitative output increases, thus using this dye as an effective laser medium in liquid state lasers.The infrared spectroscopy of the dye was also studied using the (Gaussian 9) program.

درس في هذا البحث اطياف الامتصاص والفلورة لمحلول صبغة الفلورسين المذابة في الايثانول وبتراكيز مختلفة، اذ تم حساب الخصائص البصرية(الامتصاصية ،النفاذية، معامل الامتصاص والانكسارالخطيين وكذلك حسابالعمر الزمني والنتاج الكمي للفلورة).تبينمن النتائج ان نقصان التركيز يؤدي الى نقصان قيم الامتصاصية وزيادة قيم النفاذيةمما يؤدي ذلك الى نقصان قيم معامل الامتصاص ومعامل الانكسار وهذا مايتفق مع قانون لامبرت، كذلك تقل قيم شدة الفلورة وتزاح قمة طيف انبعاث الفلورة نحو الاطوال الموجية الاطول(red shift) وبالتالي يقل العمر الزمني للفلورة ويزداد النتاج الكمي، وبالتالي استخدام هذه الصبغة كوسط فعال ليزري في ليزرات الحالة السائلة.كذلك درس طيف الأشعة تحت الحمراء عمليا ونظرياً لهذه الصبغة باستخدام برنامج(Gaussian 9) للتعرف على أنماط الاهتزاز للصبغة المستخدمة.
