Suboptimal Resource Allocation for MIMO-FDMA Systems

Abstract

In this paper, a pragmatic resource allocation algorithm for single-cell downlink multi input-multi-output (MIMO) based orthogonal frequency division multiple access(OFDMA) systems is proposed. The objective of this method is to maximize the average system throughput as a function of bit error rate and (BER) spectral efficiency by allocating the users, transmission power and information bits across the utilized subchannels. The resulting throughput maximization problem has been decoupled into two sub-problems to reduce the computational complexity, however, at the expense of performance a sub-optimal solution is obtained. The simulation results of the throughput and outage probability, obtained using MATLAB simulator, show the efficiency and accuracy of the proposed system in comparison with the other approaches.

في هذا البحث، تم اقتراح خوارزمية واقعية لتخصيص الموارد لأنظمة الخلية الواحدة والمعتمدة على تقنية متعدد المدخلات والمخرجات (MIMO) لمقسم الترددات المتعامدة ذات الوصول المتعددة. الهدف من هذه الخوارزمية هوتعظيم معدل وصول المعلومات الصحيحة والتي يتم وصفه كدالة لنسبة المعلومات الخاطئة (BER) والكفاءة الطيفية من خلال تخصيص المستخدمين، توزيع القدرة الكهربائية وتوزيع المعلومات على القنوات الفرعية المستخدمة. تم تقسيم مشكلة زيادة معدل المعلومات الصحيحة إلى عدة مشاكل لتقليل التعقيد وكلفة الحل ولكن على حساب الأداء لكي يعطي الحل الشبه الأمثل. أظهرت نتائج المحاكاة لمعدل وصول المعلومات الصحيحة واحتمالية التخريج، المحصلة من برنامج المحاكاة (MATLAB)، كفاءة و دقة النظام المقترح مقارنه بالأنظمة الأخرى.

Abstract

Recently, the use of mobile communications has become very popular but a huge problem of manmade and other kinds of interferences have been appeared and there are specific manners which many people used against this kind of communication although CDMA techniques has a good protection of these kinds of noise which don't mention it in this paper .Multiple Inputs Multiple outputs (MIMO) techniques has high capacity, increased diversity, and interference suppression. In this paper the model of receiver with MIMO techniques has introduced by using MATLAB 2014b to show the scan of the beam of antenna and measure the received power to get the best situation to make the call by suppression the signal from the direction which is many more the specific threshold.

Abstract

One of the major weakness of Wireless Sensor Networks is the energy consumption because of limited battery resource and battery replacement or recharging difficulty. The research presented in this paper aims to reduce the energy consumption in the physical layer because most the energy consumption occurred in this layer. This reduction will be achieved via the use of ZigBee transceiver standard at the physical layer under 2.4GHz frequency band with the reduced complexity and lower power consumption than other techniques used in Wireless Sensor Network. Furthermore, such use will also enhance energy efficiency, bit error rate, and throughput of the wireless sensor network. In this paper, three different systems have been proposed according to the type of transceiver technique used in wireless sensor network. System1 uses ZigBee transceiver standard over the wireless sensor network without any additional technique whereas system2 uses ZigBee transceiver with Convolutional Coding over the WSNs model. On the other hand, system3 uses the ZigBee transceiver with both diversity techniquesVirtual Multi-Input Multi-Output and with Convolutional Coding over the wireless sensor network model. The simulation of matlab results show that system3 achieves the best energy efficiency performance compared with the other two systems at lower quality of channel. System2 achieves the best energy efficiency performance at medium quality of channel, and system1 achieves better energy efficiency at high quality of channel.
