AbstractThere are mainly two kinds of network processor: coprocessors-centric model, and core-centric model. In the coprocessors-centric, the data-plane is handled by coprocessors. The core processes most of the data-plane packets yet offloading some tasks to coprocessors in the core-centric model. The IXP is one of Intel network processor series which is a core-centric model. They are optimized for home, small-to-medium enterprise, and networked embedded applications.This work aims to design a module of IXP425 performing VPN. The processing time for each stage is available in the datasheet of the IXP425. The Markov chain and Omnet++ has been adopted in this work to explore the system parameters and bottlenecks focusing on the buffer length and how to be optimized for each stage. الخلاصةهنالك نوعان رئيسيان من معالجات الشبكات الاختلاف الجوهري بينهما ينصب حول كيفية المعالجة على مستوى البيانات حيث اما يتم ذلك من قبل المعالج المركزي او من قبل المعالجات المساعدة. يركز هذا البحث على معالج شبكات انتجته شركة انتل حيث تم نمذجة هذا المعالج واعتماد الازمنة المتوفرة في المواصفات الفنية له لاجراء محاكات لقياس ادائه وتأشير الاختناق أو عنق الزجاجة مع التركيز على دوائر العزل والجم الأفضل لكل مرحلةوصولا إلىأفضل أداء عندتبني Markov chain و Omnet++ .

The incredible growth of FPGA capabilities in recent years and the new included features have made them more and more attractive for numerous embedded systems. There is however an important shortcoming concerning security of data and design. Data security implies the protection of the FPGA application in the sense that the data inside the circuit and the data transferred to/from the peripheral circuits during the communication are protected. This paper suggests a new method to support the security of any FPGA platform using network processor technology. Low cost IP2022 UBICOM network processor was used as a security shield in front of any FPGA device. It was supplied with the necessary security methods such as AES ciphering engine, SHA-1, HMAC and an embedded firewall to provide confidentiality, integrity, authenticity, and packets filtering features.

النمو هائل في إمكانيات أجهزة مصفوفة البوابات المبرمجة حقليا في السنوات الأخيرة والمي ا زت الجديدة المضمنة جعلتهأكثر جاذبية للعديد من النظم المطمورة. مع ذلك هناك نقاط الضعف الهامة المتعلقة بأمن البيانات والتصميم. أمن البياناتينطوي على حماية تطبيق أجهزة مصفوفة البوابات المبرمجة حقليا بمعنى أن البيانات داخل الدائرة والبيانات المنقولة إليهخلال عملية الاتصال عن بعد يجب أن تكون محمية. هذا البحث يقترح طريقة جديدة لدعم أمن أي جهاز مصفوفةالبوابات المبرمجة حقليا باستخدام تقنية معالج الشبكة. تم استخدام معالج شبكة المنخفضة التكلفة IP2022 UBICOMكدرع الأمن أمام أي جهاز مصفوفة البوابات المبرمجة حقليا. حيث تم تجهيزه بالأساليب الأمنية اللازمة مثل خوارزميةالتشفير الشهيرة AES ، خوارزمية SHA-1 ، وخوارزمية HMAC بالاضافة الى جدار الحماية المضمن لتوفير السريةوالن ا زهة والأصالة ومي ا زت تصفية الحزم.

AbstractThis paper proposes a prototype system for road traffic monitoring purposes using Wireless sensor networks (WSN) which consists of relatively inexpensive sensor nodes capable of sensing and wireless communication. A Web server is embedded into WSN nodes to provide a flexible remote monitoring based on web browser. WSN nodes and Embedded Web Server (EWS) have been implemented using UBICOM IP2022 network processor. The reference design includes complete source code written in C-language. The web pages which are required for the web server have been developed using HTML together with CGI scripts by implementing them as C functions within the web server. A practical implementation of the system has been tested and its operation is validated through simulation using OPNET 11.5. The simulation results have declared that the wireless LAN IEEE.802.11b is very suitable for the system’s environment and the utilization of EWS’ CPU is 55%. This means that EWS can afford the network load without dropping. الملخصفي هذا البحث تم اقتراح نظام لأغراض مراقبة حركة النقل البري باستخدام شبكات المتحسّسات اللاسلكية (WSN) والتي تضم مجموعة من المتحسسات الرخيصة نسبيا القادرة على التحسس والإتصال اللاسلكي. حيث تم تضميّن خادم الويب داخل احد المتحسسات اللاسلكية لاجل تزوّيده بالمراقبة عن بعد باستخدام متصفح الويب. المتحسس اللاسلكي وخادم الويب المضمّن تم تنفيذهم باستخدام معالج الشبكة (UBICOM IP2022) وان عملية التصميم باستخدام هذا المعالج تضمّنت كتابة برنامج بلغة السي، اما صفحات الويب المستخدمة لخادم الويب فانها كتبت باستخدام لغة (الإتش تي إم إل) وبرامج آلية تنفيذ معالجة المعلومات (CGI) وهذه البرامج كتبت على شكل دوال بلغة السي داخل خادم الويب. تم فحص النظام المقترح عمليا والتاكد من مدى فعاليته باسلوب المحاكاة باستخدام برنامج ال OPNET 11.5. والنتائج العملية اظهرت كفاءة استخدام الشبكة اللاسلكية IEEE.802.11bوان استخدامية الخادم المضمن كانت 55% وهي كافية لتحمل حمل الشبكة، وكما ان الانتاجية وزمن التاخير وزمن الاستجابة كانوا ضمن الحدود المقبولة.
