Abstract

Finding a vacant parking space nowadays is time and fuel consuming. This problem may cause drivers to get frustrated and eventually improper parking will appear. The universities, in particular, are one of these places, which needs more attention for providing parking services. Therefore, this study has focused on finding the parking required for such facilities and the benefit of applying smart parking services there. The main campus of the University of Kufa has been evaluated by collecting parking data for both on-street and off-street parking. The results of field data show a clear lack of parking space for most of the faculties in the main campus. The required additional parking spaces are 260.This study has suggested using the smart parks. The model of smart park system has been introduced by this study as a solution to the parking problem, especially in the university and generally in other places. Arduino and ultrasonic sensors were used to detect the empty places in a park and display this status to the screen. The model has been applied at the park of College of Engineering with encouraging results.

Abstract

Many mobile applications use infrared (IR) and Ultrasonic sensors for distance measurements. In this paper, these two types of sensors have been used in building obstacle detection system and the attributes of each sensor has been tested, the system consists of transmitter and receiver circuit, furthermore, Arduino UNO card has been used for transmitting and receiving signal for each type of sensor based on the Arduino software. The test was performed through distributing these sensors on the road then analyze the reflected signal. Neural network trained and used for monitoring the street and producing the number of cars in each line of street and the total number of cars in the same street.

هنالك العديد من التطبيقات التي تستخدم المتحسسات من نوع (IR) و (Ultrasonic) في قياس المسافات. وفي هذا البحث قد تم استخدام هذه الأنواع من المتحسسات في بناء نظام يهدف الى الكشف عن المركبات الموجودة في الشارع , وقد تم اختبار جميع خصائص المتحسسات المستخدمة في هذا النظام. حيث ان هذه الحساسات تعمل بنظام دائرة الارسال ودائرة الاستلام كما وقد تم استخدام الاردوينو نوع (UNO) للقيام بعمليات الارسال والاستلام. وتم توزيع هذه المتحسسات على طول الطريق و تحليل الإشارات المنعكسة من المتحسسات بعد اصطدامها بالأهداف. وكذلك فأن شبكات الخلايا العصبية الصناعية تم تدريبها لمراقبة الطريق ولكي تعطي عدد الأهداف او المركبات في كل شارع وعدد المركبات في كل خط من نفس الشارع.
