The characteristics of profile facial types and its relation with mandibular rotation in a sample of Iraqi adults with different skeletal relations

Abstract

Background: Facial type plays an important role in the information of an orthodontic treatment plan and prognosisthat is whether an individual has long, short or average face and it is not possible to apply the same norms andtreatment objective to cases with different facial patterns. This study aims to determine the characteristics of Bimler'sfacial types (dolichoprosopic, mesoprosopic, leptoprosopic) and their relationship with mandibular rotation in Iraqiadults with different skeletal relations.Materials and methods: The sample consisted of 230 digital true lateral cephalometric radiographs of age rangebetween 18-30years (104 males and 126 females), the sample was classified according to ANB angle into threeskeletal classes (class I, class II and class III) and each class was classified depended on PP-MP angle into three faces.Thirteen cephalometric measurements (five angular, seven linear and one ratio) were measured for each individualradiograph using AutoCAD program 2006.Results: The mean values of all measurements for males were significantly higher than females, except for the GA,UGA and LGA, The mean values of GA, LGA, AFH and LAFH were high in leptoprosopic face, while their valuesdecreased in dolichoprosopic face and the reversed were found with JR, PFH, RL and MAXL, moreover all thesemeasurements revealed a highly significant difference between the three facial types.Conclusions: The mandibular rotation was not changed in all skeletal classes that belong to the same facial type asit did not affected by the anteroposterior relation within the same profile

Abstract

Background: It was stated in scientific literatures that the entire craniofacial complex is influenced by the growth ofthe cranial base structures. Nevertheless, many times this is not the case, and this point is subject to great controversyso the aim of this study is to evaluate the possible differences in cranial base shape and flexure between differentskeletal classes for both genders and to investigate any possible correlation between cranial base variables andother skeletal base variables.Materials and Methods: The sample include 75 lateral cephalometric radiographs of Iraqi adults aged between 18-25years (39 males, 36 females), collected from patients and undergraduate students in the orthodontic department ofCollege of Dentistry-Baghdad University. The total sample was divided to three major categories depending on ANBangle and dental occlusion into class I control group (12 males, 13 females), class II group (13 males, 12 females) andclass III group (14 males, 11 females).Results: The results revealed that no significant difference in all the angular measurements of both skeletal andcranial bases existed between genders, while all linear and area measurements were usually higher in males thanfemales and there was no significant difference in all the skeletal and cranial bases angles existed between differentskeletal classes in both genders meaning that there is no relationship between cranial base flexure and skeletalclasses. The angles N-S-Ar, N-S-Ba and SN-FH were always correlated negatively with both the angles SNA and SNB inall skeletal classes for both genders, while the angle SBa-FH showed weaker correlation with the angles SNA and SNBthan the angle SN-FHin all skeletal classes for both genders.Conclusion: Cranial base flexure is not the main cause of skeletal malocclusions

Abstract

Recently, the use of mobile devices to run multimedia applications is becoming more popular. Such applications are known to be energy consuming. Since these devices are mostly battery powered with a limited battery life, energy saving strategies becomes vital for such systems operation. WiMAX systems utilize a standard sleep mode in order to reduce the mobile station (MS) power usage. It is also used to reduce the usage of base station (BS) air interface resources. IEEE 802.16e proposes three power saving classes (PSCs), depending on the type of the application(s) running on the device. However, when multiple applications that belong to different service types are operating simultaneously, the power consumption may increase due to overlapping among the used PSCs. In this work, a new mechanism is proposed to minimize power consumption of mobile WiMax devices. The proposed mechanism tries to eliminate the overlapping of PSCs by synchronizing the different PSCs. A simulation study is conducted and the simulation results indicate that the proposed mechanism can significantly reduce power consumption of MS; OPNET 14.5 modeler is the simulation tools that used in this work. However, this version of OPNET does not support sleep mode, but the sleep protocol is programed (in this work) using C Language inside the modeler, in order to show the effect of the proposed mechanism to enhance the power saving.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between leptin levels and classes of obesity adults, who do not suffer from chronic diseases. This study was performed in department of nutrition at the Murjan teaching hospital / in Babylon province/Iraq, in January 2016. This study included 52 (100%) were patients with obesity ,female were 39(75.0%) and male were 13 (25.0%) for age range from (19-40 years) and mean BMI (32.32 for classes I,36.93 for classes II and 42.15 for class III). Correlation analysis showed that a significant positive correlate (y = 35.71+1.43*BMI, r = 0.65, P = 0.03) between classes III of obesity depending on BMI and leptin levels ,while the results found there was no significant correlation between classes I and II and leptin levels.

Abstract

For a nonempty subset X of a group G and a positive integer m , the product of X , denoted by Xm ,is the set Xm = That is , Xm is the subset of G formed by considering all possible ordered products of m elements form X. In the symmetric group Sn, the class Cn (n odd positive integer) split into two conjugacy classes in An denoted Cn+ and Cn- . C+ and C- were used for these two parts of Cn. This work we prove that for some odd n ,the class C of 5- cycle in Sn has the property that = An n 7 and C+ has the property that each element of C+ is conjugate to its inverse, the square of each element of it is the element of C-, these results were used to prove that C+ C- = An exceptional of I (I the identity conjugacy class), when n=5+4k , k>=0.

Soft tissue facial profile analysis of adult Iraqis with different classes of malocclusion

Abstract

Background: Complete analysis of facial profile should also include an evaluation of soft tissue morphology.Materials and Method:The sample consisted of 90 Iraqi adults (45 males and 45 females) aged 18-25 years fromBaghdad city divided into 3 groups according to the ANB angle with 30 subjects in each group (15 males and 15females) for class I, II and III. Lateral cephalometric radiograph was taken for each subject and 8 angular and 5linear measurements were identified and determined, t-test, ANOVA and LSD test were used to compare betweenboth genders and between different classes.Results:Showed that females had greater angular measurements and smaller linear measurements with more lipprominence than males in all classes, there was more convex facial profile with more prominent forehead, moreprominent tip of the nose with increased facial heights and more prominent lips in class II subjects than in class I andIIIsubjects.Conclusion: There is wide variation in soft tissue facial profile among different classes of malocclusion and carefuldetermination of the components of soft tissue facial profile is very important in the diagnosis and treatmentplanning

Abstract

AbstractThe quadrature power amplifier (QPA) is used in a CMOS radio frequencies (RF) amplifier for wireless communication system such as WLAN and mobile communication(W-CDMA).Because of its high efficiency at high frequency operation and good linearity.This paper presents a design and analysis in the timeand frequency domains for quadrature power amplifier based on 90-nm CMOS technology.The Class D power amplifier is used in the QPA configuration, because ofthe switch mode amplifiers provide amplification for modulated signals at RF with high efficiency and linearity. The quadrature signals are to be directly amplified by using a QPA without decomposing these signal to a phase and amplitude signal because of the lack of its separate avoid and the linearity and bandwidth requirements, thus reducing power consumption.The results obtained show that the QPA can be used in a wide band spectrum. The amplifier has very good power added efficiency (PAE%) about (70.5%)and IDM3 is (-62.6dBm) at maximum output power (24.35dBm) and input power greater than (20dBm). The amplitude distortionhas been obtained in this work about (1.36 dB/dB), and phase distortion about(0.27 degree/dB).

يستخدم مكبر القدرة نوع(Quadrature)في التطبيقات اللاسلكية مثل(WLAN) وانظمة الاتصالات الخلوية(WCDMA) بسبب كفاءته العالية عند الترددات العالية وبخطية جيدة.تم في هذا البحث تصميم وتحليل بالحيزين الزمني والترددي لمكبر القدرة نوع (Quadrature)وبتقنية (90-nm CMOS). استُخدم في بناء المكبر مكبر القدرة نوع (D) لان مكبرات القدرة المفتاحية قادرة على تكبير الاشارات المضمنة عند الترددات الراديوية وبخطية جيدة وبكفاءة عالية. تم تضمين وتكبير اشارة المعلومات بشكل مباشر من خلال المكبر المستخدم بدون تفكيكها الى اشارة الاتساع واشارة الطور لان ذلك يوفر عرض حزمة واسعة وخطية عالية وقدرة استهلاك قليلة. تبين من خلال النتائج ان المكبر يعمل على طيف واسع من الترددات, وتمتلك خطية جيدة وكفاءة عالية حيت وصلت كفاءة القدرة المضافة الى حوالي(70.5%) وقيمة التداخل مع التوافقية الثالثة حوالي (-62.6dBm) عند اعظم قدرة اخراج (24.35dBm) وبقدرة ادخال اكبر من(20dBm). تم الحصول على اقل قيمة ممكنة لمقدار التشويه التي تشمل التشويه الاتساعي حوالي (1.36 dB/dB) والتشويه الطوري حوالي (0.27 degree/dB).

Abstract

This study is made for determining wind speed frequency distributions at any height within Surface Layer SL (SL has height about 250m above ground) ,where wind speed is measured at low reference level (usually 10m) which is considered a routine meteorological data recorded hourly. This study needs to know in detail the roughness characteristics of the terrain surrounding the location study, that important to calculate the rate of growth of internal boundary layers resulting from discontinuities in roughness as well as the shape of wind profile in various layers. The shape characteristics of the wind profile are determined as a function of roughness length and stability and the result of this profile is compared with measurements from radiosonde, at height 10, 50,100,150, 200m. This study tested frequency percent for wind speed at 10m, 50m, 200m for the observed and calculated at July– month 1990 and at the 12:00 hour only. The calculated wind frequency has weak at 10m wind speed and all the frequency is concentrated at the (2-6) m/s, while the observed has high frequency at the wind speed reached to 8m/s. This case is changed at the height 50m, and 200m where the calculated have high frequency at the wind speed concentrated at (6-10) m/s. This study refers to the possibility of installing turbine in this layer to generate electricity at least in this period of this year.
