The monthly time series of the Total Suspended Solids (TSS) concentrations in Euphrates River at Nasria was analyzed as a time series. The data used for the analysis was the monthly series during (1977-2000).The series was tested for nonhomogenity and found to be nonhomogeneous. A significant positive jump was observed after 1988. This nonhomogenity was removed using a method suggested by Yevichevich (7). The homogeneous series was then normalized using Box and Cox (2) transformation. The periodic component of the series was fitted using harmonic analyses, and removed from the series to obtain the dependent stochastic component. This component was then modeled using first order autoregressive model (Markovian chain). The above analysis was conducted using the data for the period (1977-1997), the remaining 3-years (1998-2000) of the observed data was left for the verification of the model. The observed model was used to generate future series. Those series were compared with the observed series using t-test. The comparison indicates the capability of the model to produce acceptable future data.

تم في هذا البحث تحليل البيانات الشهرية لتراكيز المواد العالقة الكلية لنهر الفرات في مدينة الناصرية، حيث تم اخذ المعدل للشهري للبيانات المتوفرة من سنة (1977-2000) . في البداية تم اختبار البيانات لمعرفة فيما اذا كانت متجانسة او غيرمتجاسة ووجد انها غير متجانسة عند سنة 1988. باستخدام طريقة Yevichevich تم ازالة عدم التجانس في البيانات. ثم تم توزيع البيانات طبيعياًباستخدام طريقة العالمين Box و Cox. بعد ذلك تم اخذ القيم المعدلة لازالة المركبة الدورية عنها وذلك للحصول على الدالة المستقلة التي تم نمذجتها بموديل من نوع سلسلة Markovian. ان التحليل اعلاه تم تطبيقه على البيانات من سنة 1977-1997 حيث تركت قيم التراكيز للثلاث سنين المتبقية (1998-2000) لاستخدامها في التحقق من نتائج الموديل. ومن خلال النموذج الذي تم التوصل اليه تم توليد قيم لثلاث سنين مستقبلية لمقارنتها مع القيم المقاسة وباستخدام اختبار t-test وقد بينت النتائج امكانية الاعتماد على النموذج لاعطاء نتائج مستقبلية مقبولة.

A significant positive jump was observed at 2002 for Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) and at 2006 for Chloride (CL). This non homogeneity was removed using a method suggested by Yevichevich (7). تم في هذا البحث تحليل البيانات الشهرية لتركيز المواد المذابة الكلية وتراكيز الكلور لنهر الفرات في محافظة بابل (مدينة الحلة) , حيث تم اخذ المعدل الشهري للبيانات المتوفرة من سنة ( 2000-2013).(دائرة بيئة بابل، بيانات).في البداية تم اختبار البيانات لمعرفة فيما اذا كانت متجانسة ام غير متجانسة ووجد انها غير متجانسة عند سنة 2002 للمواد المذابة الكلية وعند سنة 2006 لتركيز الكلوريد باستخدام طريقة Yevichevich تم ازالة عدم التجانس في البيانات . ثم تم توزيع البيانات توزيعا طبيعيا باستخدام طريقة العالمين Cox,Box .بعد ذلك تم اخذ القيم المعدلة لإزالة المركبة الدورية عنها وذلك للحصول على الدالة المستقلة التي تم نمذجتها بموديل من نوع سلسلة Markovian .ان التحليل اعلاه تم تطبيقه على البيانات من سنة 2001-2013 حيث تركت قيم التراكيز للسنتين المتبقيتين (2012-2013) لاستخدامها في التحقق من نتائج الموديل.ومن خلال النموذج الذي تم التوصل اليه تم التنبؤ بقيم لسنتين مستقبليه لمقارنتها مع القيم المقاسة وباستخدام اختبار t-test وقد بينت النتائج امكانية الاعتماد على النموذج لا عطاء نتائج مستقبلية مقبولة.

In this research, the program SEEP / W was used to compute the value of seepage through the homogenous and non-homogeneous earth dam with known dimensions. The results show that the relationship between the seepage and water height in upstream of the dam to its length for saturated soil was nonlinear when the dam is homogenous. For the non-homogeneous dam, the relationship was linear and the amount of seepage increase with the height of water in upstream to its length. Also the quantity of seepage was calculated using the method of (Fredlund and Xing, 1994) and (Van Genuchten, 1980) when the soil is saturated – unsaturated, the results referred to that the higher value of seepage when the soil is saturated and the lowest value of seepage when using Van Genuchten method for both homogeneous and non-homogeneous earth fill dams. Also relationship for the seepage (Q) with the curve fitting parameter (a) for sand, silt and clay soil was nonlinear when the dam is homogenous with constant variables (n, m) and the amount of seepage increase with increasing value of (a). The amount of seepage for a nonhomogeneous dam with a different value of (Kshell to Kcore) was calculated and then compared with the value of (K equivalent) which was equal to average (Kshell and Kcore) for the homogenous dam. The results show that when the average between (Kshell and Kcore) is ≤ 100 the difference was small between the quantity of the seepage calculated. For simplicity of the solution process, it can be replaced non-homogeneous dam by a homogenous dam with (K eq) when the values of Kshell and Kcore are less than or equal to 100.

في هذا البحث تم استخدام البرنامج SEEP/W لمعرفة قيمة التسرب خلال سد ترابي متجانس وغير متجانس بأبعاد معلومة. حيث وجد ان العلاقة بين ارتفاع الماء في مقدمة السد الى طوله من نهاية ارتفاع الماء الى نهاية السد للتربة المشبعة ليست خطية عندما يكون السد متجانس اما السد الغير متجانس فكانت العلاقة خطية وان مقدار التسرب يزداد مع ازدياد ارتفاع الماء امام السد. كذلك تم ايجاد مقدار التسرب بموجب طريقةFredlund and Xing1994) ( و (Van Genuchten1980) عندما تكون التربة مشبعة -غير مشبعة وبينت النتائج ان اعلى قيمة للتسرب عندما تكون التربة مشبعة كليا وأوطأ قيمة للتسرب كانت باستخدام طريقة ( (Van Genuchten لكلا النوعين من السدود الترابية (المتجانسة والغير متجانسة) . كذلك تم ايجاد علاقة بين التسرب (Q) مع المتغير (a) للتربة الرملية والغرينية والطينة حيث كانت غير خطية عندما يكون السد متجانس مع ثبوت المتغيرات (.(m, n وان مقدار التسرب يزداد مع ازدياد قيمة ( (aللترب الرملية والغرينية والطينية. تم ايجاد كمية التسرب لسد غير متجانس لقيم مختلفة من (Kshell وKcore) وقورنت مع القيم المحسوبة عندما تكون قيمة النفاذية تساوي القيمة المكافئة التي هي معدل قيمة Kshell) وKcore) لسد متجانس وقد بينت النتائج انه عندما يكون المعدل بين القيمتين 100 فان الفرق قليل بين قيم التسرب المحسوبة وعليه لتسهيل التحليل يمكن التعويض عن السد الغير متجانس بسد متجانس بنفاذية مكافئة عندما يكون (Kshell /Kcore≤ 100)
